Introduction: Hello everyone, I played Stonekeep as a child, kinof 25 years ago, and every decade I pick it up to play and feel that delicious nostalgia mixed with dopamine.

Secrets: What intrigues me most about this game are the game's secret items that were displayed on the cover boxes and in the game's marketing, but all of these images were from the early stages of the game's development, and this items was cut off from the final version of the game. i will attach the pics.

Playing right now: Inn my new campaign, playing a few days ago, I tried to do something different, I tried to level up all the NPC companions as much as possible before reaching the end of the game, not using cheat but only using those places where almost endless monsters spawn and using shield blocks in a few keyspots, all in game in a normal playthrough. Spoiler alert, was not as I intended... the game have many bugs related with the companions.

Interesting Things: *One of the best part of the game is the text writed in the diary about your companions: how much health, strength and agility they are and what their skill levels are, all in text format and not as statistics, points or numbers. I think this is awesome, very creative, as if you were writing a diary. And precisely this made me create a very interesting value conversion in Excel. (i will attach this values to fill you curiosity)

STOP WANDING, GETTING TO THE POINT:
I tried to use UGE, Cheat Engine, Save Game Editor and find ways to reverse engineer to find the game's early stage secret items that were removed from the final version. NO SUCCESS. My programming skills are limited and I know that the weeks or months it would take me to learn this would only take the right person a few hours.

I dont even know what language code the game was compiled to try reverse engineer. I tried a few decompile with no success, only if this programs was easily or intuitive for me to keep going but probably will be a waste of time. (Don't bother commenting on this, it's a waste of time, i just dont have the right skill to do it)

The best I could find was the names of the items that were cut from the final version of the game by searching in strings on the Cheat Engine:

item_leg6 { "A finely wrought chain mail skirt." }
item_trs6 { "A finely wrought chain mail shirt." }

*I think this two items are what farli is wearing in the pic (attached)

item_shda { "A piece of Shadow itself." }
item_shdb { "A piece of Shadow itself." }

*probably one of this is the shadow shield in the pic (attached)

item_swd5 { "The sword of the Shadowking." }
* I am curious to see that.

item_bg40 { "Bag to hold oil bombs." }
* maybe the strange bag in the pic.

Others minors curiosities items :
item_boom { "A boomerang." }
item_bold { "A very large boulder." }
item_bow3 { "A sling." }
item_gem2 { "A large black gem." }
item_gem1 { "A large gem." }
item_stf2 { "A staff of mithril." }
item_sp02 { "A javelin." }
item_ss__ { "A strange mechanimagickal device." }

In the comment of Dave Melanson (overkill@ici.net) Game Editor Module For Interplay's STONEKEEP
(font: cheaters-heaven.com/trainers/176-stonekeep-game-editor-module.html)

Dave comment that:
"... I wondered about inventory for a while, but unfortunately, every
single item in Stonekeep is kept track of at all times by the saved game
file. If you attempt to get an item, it "must have come from somewhere."
Loosely translated, you can't create an item from thin air-you can give
yourself any item, but you also have to change four or five other bytes in
the saved game file to tell the game that the item is no longer there.
This proved to be way too much trouble considering the number of items
there are in this game (I'm currently carrying around 45 Shargas Swords),
so I abandoned chances of doing inventory. ..."

SO, I completely understand his opinion and point of view, he probably really checked the source code and his programming ability it's much better than mine, I can't even compare it. That's why I don't want to go down that path, I want to find an alternative.

Alternative is as follows:
What if we can do a search in the code like for example item_swd5 { "The sword of the Shadowking." }

Identify what triggers the item_swd5 value to be written in the diary, what its location is on the map, and simply transport me to that place using Cheat Engine and collect the items.

or maybe the items have a "hidden" flag so we would have to figure out how to make the items "unhidden", and know your exact location, of course...

Again... my skils are limited to do it so i need help on this topic.

If you've read all of this so far, thank you for your attention, and I thank you in advance for making yourself available to help.
