nurfed: Like i said in the other thread, this dagger really is only necessary if you find the game immensely hard, it is kind of a cheat to even pick it up after all it is the best weapon in the entire game.
Where's it at?

Robbeasy: Damn - I must be really really bad at this type of game...!!

I got the dagger, using it a lot - just reached the Throggi Temple level and am starting to struggle a bit........

ho hum - might be cos it skews the player stats so you are a bit short on some....i may restart without it, just to see how it goes
Eh... Once you get use to the game, it isn't too bad. I don't even use the healing items anymore except for the wine skin. Not when you get cool spells like Lesser and Greater Heal. Learn where the magic circles are on floors and start using buff spells, and the difficulty will fall away.

Another tip is go to the tower with the fountain of thera in it, towards the beginning of the game, with all the sharga's running in circles with a shield and just hang out. Let them hit you till your shield skill is at 5 dots. Heal as necessary at the fountain. You should get some health which will increase your HP too. After that, make sure to stick around at all the supposed "Infinite Monster" spawns. Like the drains that the ants/snakes will pour out of and kill them till they stop spawning. At least till you reach the dwarven clanhall. Go mash on the magic flint next to the dwarf. It'll take 30 minutes to an hour, but you can max out all your combat stats there.
