Im trying to run Still Life 1 on Win 10. I was able to overcome black screen with setting compatibility to Windows XP SP3 but im still having problems with lip sync (extremely fast) and mainly on 3D objects for puzzles.

For example, adding code to morgue is extremely hard because many times one click is counted as more then one. Best this can be seen when taking fingerprints. Brush and papers are jumping on screen with extreme speed. And one more, credits on intro will be completely ahead of video.

I also tried unofficial vista patch but it ended with error in french :-/

No problems on Windows 10 here, right now the only thing I want is to be able to set Windowed Mode (Natively), cause the resolution is extremely low and limited.
how were you guys able to run the game on windows 10? the only compatibility option that doesn't give me a black screen is windows 95 and 98/me but even on those when the game starts and i go talk to the first cop the game freezes.

I did everything i could and know, including forcing the game to run on a single CPU core.

Same problems here.
The game also kicks me out to desktop every 10 minutes, it's not a crash, the game is always still open but in the taskbar.
I'm playing the Steam version on Windows 10 64-bit with few problems, all of which I fixed without changing any compatibility settings in Windows. For what it's worth, this is an Nvidia machine (970).

I had the fast mouth movement problem but that can be fixed by capping framerate to 60 (for the record, I'm using Riva Tuner). I had another odd problem where it wouldn't open properly, it would keep force-minimising itself, if I had the Nvidia Control Panel open. Lastly, enabling in-game AA would cause graphical glitches about the character's head. This was fixed by either turning off AA, of course, or by putting on FXAA through the Nvidia Control Panel. Other types of AA in the Nvidia Control Panel caused the same glitches.

One option to fix the fast mouth movement or problems running it is using dgvoodoo2 to run this game and any others that use the same engine like Syberia etc...

It has advantages, not only fixes the mouth problem but also another problem in the inventory as the fast speed turning objects with the arrows. All tat glitches are vsyn related.

in dgvoodoo2 turn vsync on and anysotropic filtering and the game looks much better. As intended.
