It seems that while the game technically runs the graphics stay completely still, usually it runs fine for a few seconds and then the menu is a still image.
I can move the cursor and hear the faint beep of when you pass it over one of the options but everything is still.
I've tried slowing the game down, set core affinity and everything I could think of, even putting a frame limiter but it seems completely random.
Once I was able to start the game, see the intro cinematic and then play but when I spoke with the uniform the game slowed down to a crawl and had to ALT-F4 out of it.

In the end I used DGvoodoo 2 to simulate and older video card, whatever happened was probably tied to a RX 580 being way too overpowered or modern to run this thing and even with a frame limiter 2D menus were unuseable.
It would be a good idea for GOG to start including similar wrappers with this thing because I doubt I'm the only one having this issue.
