Well, I am stuck ....

Right now, I am at the killer's house as Victoria, looking for clues, and there is this charred door, which Garris is trying to open, but it does not open, because I am not getting the final phone call from Claire. I went through a walkthrough and it looks like I did everything I could, but I am still not getting the call.

I noticed that I have two gum samples in my evidence kit. One has two record (0% and 50%), the second one has one record at 100%, Shouldnt those go together?

I googled a bit, and notice that people are having the same problem and there are two solutions. I either replay the whole damn chapter (dont wanna, since I would probably have to follow the walkthrough step by step, just to make sure I dont get the glitch, but it's not guaranteed) or I could get a save after the final phone call from Claire, so I can go through the charred door.

So, is there anybody out there that has that save file? Pretty please, with cherry on top :)

Or maybe, somebody knows something I can do ingame to fix this.

Update:

Ok, I just read another walkthrough and noticed this:

There's a drawer beneath it too, which you should open. You'll find a student thesis from USC inside. Call Claire about it right away.

I do not think I did this. So I'll try this first, when I get home tonight. I just got hopeful again :) But still, if anybody has a save game ..... :) Just in case :)

Well, some of us read this. :P The Still Life subforums may not be as active as, say, the Baldur's Gate or the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ones, but there certainly are people in here as well, and we try to be as helpful as we can, to the extent of our knowledge and abilities.

You don't bother us at all, when people have trouble with their games they can always come to the GOG community for help and, when all that fails, you can always count on GOG Support team, as they tend to be very helpful and manage to solve almost any major problem their customers might be having.

Still, I'm glad you managed to sort your issue out; more often than not, in adventure games, the problem is not technical, it's usually some step or other that was overlooked. Enjoy your game! :D
Well, I didn't think it was technical at first, just that I missed something. But then I started googling and there were people with the same issues and of course I started to think it's probably technical :)

They really should have implemented some sort of progress report (Found 4/5 major clues or something). The game itself isnt really built for walking around all the time, it gets annoying.
