Anybody else having trouble getting this version to work? I've tried Verify/Restore and uninstalling/reinstalling and can't get the game to work in GOG Galaxy. I tried downloading the installer and installing it manually but I get an error message saying that it can't find Stellaris.exe, which I can confirm doesn't exist in the game folder. Previous versions of the game worked fine.

Also, does anyone know where I can get an earlier version of the game? The only download listed on GOG is the newest (apparently broken) version.

1. the current Gog build is 2.3.3.1 (70ef) but most people are using (oc5d) online because its stabble... Paradox has posted some bs about fixing it but the botton line is Stellaris = fix it yourself!

2. the Stellaris exe for the gog version goes to the default install folder i.e, D, Galaxy games stellaris [for me] not the Documents folder like steam

3. [important] Gog galaxy Stellaris, Gog offline install, Steam Stellaris & Paradox Stellaris are NOT compatable with each other!

4. if you got the game from Gog and want to try older builds before the last 5 updates then you need the Paradox launcher... the game keys to download these are in your game folder which can ONLY be seen from a web browser... not galaxy

I figured out what the problem is. WIndows Defender thinks that Stellaris.exe on version 2.3.3.1 is a threat and quarantines it. That's why I couldn't find it in the game folder. Once I replaced that file and set Windows Defender to ignore it, the game seems to work fine on the latest version. Why Windows Defender didn't recognize earlier versions of Stellaris.exe as a threat, I don't know. But for now at least, problem solved.
