Hello everyone!

I've been wanting to buy Stellaris for a while now, I recently found about GOG and the amazing deal right now on the game with all the DLC, is there any difference between buying it on either platform? Regarding game updates, mod support, achievements or anything relevant? I know the multiplayer allows to play with friends from any platform, is that right?

Thanks in advance for your help!
The only differences AFAIK are that Paradox didn't implement achievements for GOG but they do have their own achievements through their Paradox-system. AFAIK you can only check out achievements if you're in the main menu, not while you're playing.

In terms of mods for the GOG-version, you can go to https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/games/stellaris (or click on the link to this mods-page in the Paradox launcher which sends you to the same page as well) or visit the user mods-subforum at https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/stellaris-user-mods.940/

New patches for the GOG-version of the game are released pretty fast.

I don't do MP but apparently (as noted on the store page of the game) there's a beta-version of the new Paradox MP-system that let's Steam- and GOG-users play together. Not sure if there are any problems with it though.
Gog vs Stream multi works in that you can do it but Stellaris suffers from lack of play testing and most people that want to play multi do so on older [more stabble] builds

if you want mods {and don't know anything about code] then Steam is prob a better option than Gog... most modders assume Steam

every thing else is which system you like best; Steam, Gog or Paradox
