Hey guys,

im really new to this game and have an stupid question.

I try to learn the mechanics and how it works still. So i read I should focus on exploring and making outposts and mines all around.

at some point I have at least 7 to 1 territory compared to a neighbor (maybe a minor race or something). However he have a screen long fleets count each of it stronger of all my fleets together. I can support maybe 2 or 3 times bigger fleet, however I'll be still far away from him. Is it normal? Some pirate factions (occupying a single gravity well) are also as strong, or even stronger than me.

I am 99% sure I do something wrong.... any ideas?

Thank you for your support

It sounds like a fallen empire. These are empires that long ago fell, no longer grew and became inward looking. They leave everyone else alone if you leave them alone. They have very strong fleets.
that strong a fleet power in such a small area is more likely a marauder empire but make a note of their flag \ name then goto 'contacts' and it should say Fallen or marauder next to their name

p.s, yes they will be a major issue sooner or later
marauder empire = Khan [don't give up hope]
Fallen empires = 3 basic states; asleep [leave them alone] you can take a perk to give extra 20% damage but normally not worth it, a wake [this is really bad] you will bend your knee to them or die & war in Heaven...
thanks for the answers guys. I know a bit better now:) I should disable them for now i believe:)
