When playing online it just shows the checksum as blank 2.2.3 (). I can only view other peoples games who have the same problem.

Every other instance of the checksum is correct (launcher, server browser etc).

Anyone else experiencing this?

yes the gog version is newer than everyone else and only came out last night so give it time
But it doesn't explain why the checksum is blank in the server browser? Surely regardless of what version we're on vs others it should still show the full version number.
Same issue. Tried to play this evening with a friend with the Paradox version and we could not connect.

My games are showing up as "2.2.3 ()" (ie no checksum) and I see one or two others out there like this as well.

Gronk.

Have you reported this to the Stellaris folks yet? It should be an easy fix.

it isn't blank, the current gog version is 1960 and you have it because its on your screengrab mate

look at mine

p.s, its also on the news tab when you start the game

Yes I get that 100%, I know GOG says 1960 but the Steam test client also shows 1960 but correctly displays games with the correct checksum. Look at the server versions not the version you highlighted.

I have two more screenshots (I own the base game on Steam with no DLC), there is a clear difference when they are both running 2.2.3... These are taken minutes apart!

Steam 1960 = gog 555a i.e, roll back to the 10 days ago patch and you will be where every steam player [paradox server] lives

Silas, I haven't reported it to paradox yet but have reported it to GOG.

This to me looks like an issue with GOG's version being slightly different in some way to Steam's.

Am I missing something ussnorway, are you saying someone on GOG should be running 555a in order to play with someone on Steam running 1960?

Also it's not possible for Steam clients to roll back to 555a.

sorry guys it looks like the missing gog file is checksum_manifest.txt and I'm not been getting that error because I make backups instead of letting gog do it

workaround: turn off stellaris and shut down gog galaxy;

step 1 = grab a copy of the file from your steam folder or you can have this copy
https://windowsforum.com/resources/missing-stellaris-fille-needed-for-cross-platform-multiplay.58/

step 2 = you need to go to C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris ...assumes you have documents on your c drive and to be clear this folder location is for the gog version of stellaris not the steam one

step 3 = drop the checksum_manifest.txt file in and restart gog stellaris... you should now be able to join cross platfrom against steam players

someone please test this and let know if you have issues... I assume gog guys will get around to patching soon so this is just a temp work around

That did it, thanks so much ussnorway!

Something so simple! It's a shame GOG/Paradox missed this off, they should be using the same branch/files as Steam really.
Worked for me too!

Many thanks, ussnorway! You da man/woman/small furry creature from Alpha Centauri.

not working here. On newest branch which meshed up with the testing and crossplay branch for version number. I see NO SERVERS

the newest gog patch is 1960
you need a paradox account to play multiplayer and you need to be signed into it when Stararis starts... its on the bottom of the first ui screen

if you goto multiplayer untick the 'same mods' and 'same version' boxes to see every game online at this time [see my screenshot]... if you have done this and still see no games playing then I assume you have firewall issues or your network is inside a Vpn perhaps... the checksum_manifest.txt file is needed to join a game but it should still show up games in play even you you don't have that file mate

I did that. I've been signed in. When I do the above, I get a version mismatch error. Servers show up as not compatible despite having the same checksum and nobyd from Steam can join a game I host on GOG.
