I just noticed that when you select to download that the list doesn't distinguish from 32 or 64 bit from the menu. It lists parts 1-6. Parts 1-3 are 32 and parts 4-6 are 64. It just seems a bit odd to be labelled 1-6.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll check in with GOG - these are generated on their side so perhaps there are settings that can correctly display which files are part of which installer (32/64bit).

I patch a lot (sometimes several times a week) after new content updates. Once everything is stable I start on the next batch of content...so these installers will be obsolete fairly quickly. Still, they should correctly display the info.
The game popped up on my radar so I check a few sites in addition to the gog description. I was really awed and I thought... man this is like xcom, privateer, and starflight all in one and more. Awesome!
I noticed this naming on several other titles I happened to redownload after getting patched, so it's not just this game. The files do mention version and 32/64 bit though, same here.

Thanks for pickup up the game and supporting ST - lots of work left to do, and lots to do in the game right now. Not perfect by a long shot but I'm always working on it.

I'll send a note to developer support about this and see what they say. It may just be a limitation of their system with 32/64bit builds.

I've tried to DL the game twice using the GOG Downloader, and I keep getting a check sum error. I thought those were transmission errors but the error says to contact Gog. Is this a transmission error?

I'd say get in touch with GOG. This is likely an issue on their side. I've tested the game on several systems here with no issues downloading through Galaxy over the last few days.

Also, when you say the GOG Downloader, is that downloading and installing from GOG Galaxy? Or, the manual downloaders that they have available?

The Gog downloader is a program that gog used before galaxy. It is suppose to be more reliable that using the download links. I would really like to avoid galaxy. Gog support does not respond to me when I ask questions. My money is welcome here, not me. I will see about a refund.

Thanks for letting me know about the GOG downloader. I'll give that a try and see if I have any issues using it with the game.

This is really messed up. Gog, as usual won't talk to me. No refund and a game I can't even get to DL on my computer. GOG sux.
I tried using the downloader a few days ago. First, I couldn't really even see the download button on the page I saw. Then, after downloading it, I couldn't add any of my games to it. I think it's broken. Not sure if anyone else is using it here. If they are, let us know if it works for you. This is where I went to download it:
https://www.gog.com/downloader

Meanwhile, you can download the individual files from your account via the GOG website. I know a bunch of people have used those and they work fine, including myself. You may need to install VC++ 2019 Redist package to get the game to work if you are still on Win7. Just go to the website where you bought the game, and look for the "view downloads" option.

There are six files in the download list. The first 3 (parts 1-3) are the 32bit version, the second three files (part 4-6) are the 64bit versions.

Okay, here's how the downloader works:

You don't have to add your games to the downloader. You use the same list of games that you would use for the regular off-line installers, but after you select the game, look just under the name of the game in the pop-up window with the off-line installers. You'll see a "more" link. If you select that, you'll see "GOG Downloader Links" that let you queue up downloads through the downloader. Selecting a download will automatically start the downloader, queue up the game, and begin downloading.

It's actually not that much different than using the normal off-line installers except for a bit of convenience (necessary files are usually grouped together under a single link); the fact that the installs you get via the downloader do NOT attempt to install Galaxy on your computer; you can pause the download if you need to; and if a download gets interrupted for any reason, you can usually pick up where you left off without having to start over.

Greetings Zandolf, I used both the gog downloader to download the game and also the offline links, both instances worked good for me.

Are you perchance behind a proxy?
Is your internet connection spotty?
Do you have a virus protection that might be over doing it? I saw someone mention that Avast was a problem, try disabling it for the duration of the download.
Do you have access to another computer to try and download from there or a laptop where you can download from another network?

Try changing the downloader settings , Number of concurrent connections, limit the download speed and download location to something that is for sure not protected by various OS or some other applications and settings. Try f.e. C:\Temp\GogDownload or something similar.

I think you should try and get this to work, this game is a gem, this is not the developers fault!

Thank you. I have had my anti-virus program for 15 months, never a problem with GOG. I stopped it and the game did DL. I ran it, it says it can't run because "vcruntime140_1.dll is missing, please run reinstall again".

Then the game ran. I didn't try to play it. Can't right now. I appears to work though. Thanks again!
