After the latest update , the screen locks up after showing the exit from the cryo-pod. The game looks like it actuall ytries to start over at the opening screen , (The one with the star background , yet without the asteroids) AT this time you see the original starting banner shapes , but they are solid black .
I have tried all troubleshooting listed on Gog and uninstalled , then reinstalled to a different drive.
Saved games load ok.

Latest : Using the option to bypass the Dauntless works

You can also press the "ESC" key or the "Q" key after the cinematics to recenter the camera on your crew as a workaround for now. I had a report of this and I'll be patching this bug out today.

I posted a fix for this just now. It may take a few minutes for GOG to make the update available - version is 0.498.

Let me know if the new patch solves the problem for you.

For now , all looks great .I do appreciate the very timely fix , as this game reminds me of one of my favorite games of all time. An old DOS/Commodore64 game from way back. . One that I always hope would get a remake .
