COMMON ISSUES AND TROUBLESHOOTING (CHECK HERE FIRST)

ISSUES AND HOW TO FIX THEM:

1.Please check that your computer meets the minimum specifications.
Most importantly we do not support shared memory graphics cards- which is present on older notebooks.
You card MUST support Open Gl 2.0 +

2.On your NVIDIA or ATI card please enable VSYNC to (always on) - this makes sure the refresh rate does not fluctuate which could throw off timing events in the game.
The Game MUST run at 60hz.

3. Enable Compatibility mode - if STASIS refuses to go full screen or the window behaves oddly:
Enable compatibility mode
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\STASIS
Right click on Stasis.exe
Properties - > Compatibility tab
Set Compatibility mode to Windows XP SP3

3. Ensure that your graphics settings are set to 32 bit colour on your desktop.

4. Check your messages.log file:

PC Users: - (REPLACE USERNAME WITH YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME, YOU CAN GET IT BY TYPING %APPDATA% INTO EXPLORER)
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\The Brotherhood\Stasis\Savegames

Mac Users:
~/Library/Application Support/The Brotherhood/Stasis/Savegames

The messages.log file may contain some debug info as to why a crash occurred.

5. Update your drivers to the latest version - this includes:
VIDEO drivers
SOUND drivers

6. You encounter a loop of death - please load an earlier savegame - you could also delete all of the bookmark files in the following folders:

PC Users: - (REPLACE USERNAME WITH YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME, YOU CAN GET IT BY TYPING %APPDATA% INTO EXPLORER)
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\The Brotherhood\Stasis\Savegames

Mac Users:
~/Library/Application Support/The Brotherhood/Stasis/Savegames

7. STASIS sometimes (depending on your setup) doesnt behave well on multi-monitor setups - if you find that the mouse closes the window/switches to another window
when moving to the edge - try point 3. OR disable your other monitor and try again.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Problem: The voice output is being skipped and the texts are only visible for a very short time.
Solution: The combination of Windows Vista/7, a Realtek sound card and headphones can be responsible for this behavior which might occur when you disconnect your headphones while playing 'STASIS'. To get a proper sound output and text speed you need to restart the game. You should still be able to save your game normally and load it after restarting.

Problem: The mouse cursor is far too sensitive if I use a graphics tablet/Wacom Cintig as an input device.
Solution: Digital drawing pencils are not officially supported as an input device. However, you might be able to use it properly if you change the game to window mode.

Problem: The mouse cursor is too slow or the cursor is jumping and the picture is laggy.
Solution: This is a driver conflict created by an outdated driver. In most cases it proved helpful to update the driver of your Realtek sound card to solve the problem.
Note for the ATI Radeon X1950 / X1950 Pro / X1950 Crossfire Edition: These widespread display adapters are - against the manufacturers statement - not completely compatible to OpenGL 2.0. Up from Catalyst Version 7.8 OpenGL does not work correctly anymore.

Problem: Cropped picture when connected via HDMI to LCD monitors with AMD/ATI display adapter.
Solution: With the overscan feature of your LCD it is possible that the picture of the game is cropped on all sides. You can fix this by opening your config.ini file and change the setting 'RESOLUTION' to 'RESOLUTION = desktop' so the LCD screen won't scale your desktop's picture automatically.

Problem: I use a laptop with a shared memory display adapter and the game crashes after a short time of play.
Solution: STASIS is not compatible with shared memory display adapters. You need to activate the high-performance display adapter of your laptop, if available.

Problem: I use a laptop with AMD GPU and the Rage Performance Driver. I am not able to start the game.
Solution: STASIS is not compatible with the AMD Rage Performance Driver. Please update your driver to the newest version.

Problem: Laptops that use Nvidia Optimus technology do not automatically switch to the Nvidia high-performance display adapter. This is a known issue for all games which use the OpenGL interface.
Solution: Laptops that have a Geforce- and a Intel-HD display adapter available use the Intel shared memory display driver by default. We recommend to change this option for the file Stasis.exe. To do so open the Nvidia Control Panel and go to '3D settings' --> 'Manage 3D settings' --> 'Program Settings' and add the stasis.exe file from your game installation path.

Erm, concerning multi-monitor setups:

I'm, ah, not so keen on disabling my other monitors. Is this really the best option?

(I'm already at 32-bit depth.)
