First off a huge thanks to The Brotherhood for releasing Cayne for free. Hadn't to think twice to pick up the Deluxe Content as well, and to send at least a little something their way in return.

However, I'm having a bit of an issue.
Cayne's working just fine so far, but for some reason the fans on my two SLI'd 980 GTXs are in permanent overdrive mode when Cayne is running, no matter if full screen or windowed.
The fans are spinning so fast (and are just as noisy) as if I'm running Crysis in 4K with everything cranked up to beyond ultra or something.

Cayne doesn't seem to be the super demanding game that should be pushing hardware of that caliber to such extremes?

I'm running this on Win7 Pro 64Bit, in 1920x1080 on an i7 5960X, 16GB RAM and two 980 GTXs in SLI Mode.
Drivers are a little bit out of date (December 2016), but I somehow doubt that this should be the culprit.

Hi Nhoux,

I suspect this is a Unity issue. I haven't been able to reproduce it on my test machines but I saw on the Unity forums there are several people who have specific setups that cause excess CPU usage. CAYNE itself is a rather simple game in terms of the graphics pipeline so It is probably the middleware that is to blame! :)

Thanks for getting back, Nic.

I guess I'll try some tool that let's you downclock the GPU resp. throttle the fan speed then. Hopefully shouldn't affect overall performance if Cayne isn't that demanding graphics-wise at all.

Thanks again and good luck with the remainder of the Beautiful Desolation crowdfunding campaign. Looking forward to chip in once it's past 100% and, iirc, you'll be offering the option to pledge through PayPal as well.
Lovely :) Swing by when we are at 98%
