Hello fellow startopia players!

I'm currently playing mission 10, the one with the sirens. I've built up a solid station and now want to expand. I've already taken some segments but somehow my guys now don't want to stop. They run very deep into enemy territory where I can't control them and they naturally die because they don't attack in a group.
The enemy closes his gate some time after the lock is hacked, which does stop my guys from getting into enemy territory but they just don't stop running. Same thing with every new one I hire (at least the ones who fight). I would have posted a screenshot of them running against the wall but it seems I can't post any links at the moment.

I think the problem is that they want to attack the peeps of the administrator who is in the middle of the other two. They must have opened their gates to each other. I've tried rallying points but to no avail.
By the way, all parties are friendly at the moment.

I had this problem before and only solved it by letting everyone get killed so there was no combat-able peep on my side.

Is there any other way to stop them from attacking?

Opening the gates is half the job, once the gates are open you got to conquer sectors, one at the time, by having a security skuzzer hack the lock to the gates that are located inside the enemy territory, thus forcing the gates to close on their side and stealing their sector. You cannot conquer more than one sector at the time. That means if you want to conquer three sectors, you've got to hack the first gates, re-open them, hack the second gates, re-open them, then the third...

Unless of course you can blow up all of your enemy's energy collectors, at which point it will be game over for him. Although you will still have to assimilate his sectors by hacking the gates one at the time if I recall correctly.

If the enemy's energy collectors are too far away, simply attack defensively, conquer sectors one at the time with a security skuzzer and set a way point near your skuzzer so your army defend the skuzzer from enemy soldiers instead of running all over the place.

Last but not least, your energy collectors determine your laser strength, in more than one way. First, the more energy you have, the more powerful your soldiers and turrets will be. But also, the further away from your energy collectors your soldiers are, the weaker their weapons will be. When there is four sectors between your energy collector and your soldiers, their weapons will deal no damage whatsoever. So I advice that, just before you attack your enemies, build an energy collector on your front lines to boost the strength of your army and maximize your chances of going straight for the kill by destroying their energy collector. Just be careful so the enemy doesn't decide to destroy or steal your front line collector.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my post. However, it is not the answer I was looking for. I know how to attack. The question is how do I get my peeps to come back into my territory? I can't conquer any sections because everyone just runs off, except for the security scuzzers.
Like I said, there are three administrators and I haven't attacked much yet, so they all still have many soldiers left to destroy my scuzzers trying to hack their locks. I guess one solution might to be raise an army of scuzzers but I'd rather wait if someone can come up with something better.
Do you have a security control on your station? I think that might be the problem if you have one. If I recall correctly, when you have a security control and an enemy appears on the station, the game will automatically flag the enemy as target to be eliminated by your soldiers, so it's possible that when you open a new segment, the security control flag all enemy agents as target to be eliminated, which in turn might explain why your soldiers run all over the place and ignore your way points. If you have a security control try to turn it off to see if the problem persist.
It's weird, when I load up the savegame my problem seems to have vanished into thin air. No one's running into walls anymore.

But I did some tests.
Shutting off security control sounded like a really good idea. Unfortunately, enemies don't get untagged. It seems, however, that the game doesn't tag new enemies. Normally, everyone who shoots at you gets tagged. Now only the ones who come into my territory get tagged.

Anyway, I think I know now how to avoid this situation. I just place a rally point and a wall of turrets at the front line in my territory and let the enemy come to me. And when they run out of soldiers I grab the section. Much safer than attacking aggressively. :)

Ok, thank you for your effort, blueskirt42.
Hahahahahahaha, that's one way of doing it too :D
