Deadmarye: Hello all,
In case the devs should pass by these forums, I'd like to ask a usual question :
There's no achievements on GoG(no biggies for me) but should we expect other discrepancies from Steam ? As in delayed updates (if updates at all), patches, fixes, content ?
So far comparing the SteamDB update history and GOGdb update history it seems to match very well, updates were released at the same time or within 1-2 days (many times I'm seeing Steam update being one day behind GOG lol):

It's always annoying to invest in a GoG game only to see it being abandoned by their devs. Not saying this will be the case to be clear.
I feel you. For this game however, after putting more than 100h into it, I can say that it's well worth the money with the current content (but note that 100h is unusual, you could probably finish the story and find all blueprints in about 20h if you move fast). Actually the only drawback I could see, assuming the very unlikely scenario that the developers stop working on it tomorrow, is that you will end up liking the Early Access so much that you will want more of it, not that you didn't get your money's worth. If you think you are the type of player that will be very much bothered if that were to happen maybe wait then but to me it seems the development is moving quickly and GOG is being kept up to date. We cannot know for certain what the future has in hold, they are a small studio and anything could happen but I sure wish they have the chance to develop and finish this game, it's so good even in Early Access.
I will ask the devs about GOG achievements tomorrow, shameless plug (but relevant to your question): tomorrow I will be doing a Starsand stream on twitch.tv/gogcom and the developers will be available for questions. See the local time for the stream on the schedule page:
