To the developers:

Hi,

I enjoy your game greatly, but I have one issue with my mouse cursor, which is disappearing whenever it is positioned over something you can click (for example each tech in the list for choosing your research or the population character in the planet Screen). This makes clicking on the right buttons sometimes arduous:
especially moving the invisible mouse cursor over the little buttons for embarking or disembarking population is difficult and takes some time usually.
I guess the problem arises from the graphical Settings of my system:
I have a 4k monitor (3840x2160) and play the game in fullscreen-mode. I had graphical problems at 3840x2160 resolution also in other games, which were gone if I play at lower (1920x1080) resolution. There is no option to lower the resolution of your game though. So I hope you will adress this problem in a future patch. Ideally with supporting mouse cursor at 4k resolution :-)
Also the option to increase font-size would be very much appreciated as the writings are very tiny at 4k resolution.

Thank you for your attention!

Today's patch (r20752), includes some changes to how the UI elements scale at very high resolutions. I *believe* the fonts should now be significantly larger on your 3840x2160 display -- but if they're not, or if things still look wrong, please let me know. (If you do still have problems, attaching a screen shot illustrating the issue would be helpful.)

This is the first I've heard of this problem. Do you have any custom windows cursorsets or GUI themes installed? Eventually, we do plan to update all the game's cursors, and when that happens, I suspect this problem will go away. Until then, if you want to try switching to 1920x1080 resolution when the game starts, there's a "hidden" developer feature in the latest build that you may be able to use to do exactly that. Specifically, if you go into the game's install folder, and edit the file "windows_settings.txt" to have the content:

fullscreen_v2 : 0 0 1920 1080

I'm hopeful that the game will temporarily switch your monitor into 1920x1080 mode on launch. This is very much an "in development" feature, however, and it hasn't yet gotten much testing. So if it works for you (or not), please let me know.

Hello,

many thanks for your reply and help. You were right, the patch improves the UI-scale and font size nicely. Everything looks better now at 4k. It also makes it much easier to position the invisible cursor. The "hidden" developer Feature did work to change the resolution but sadly my cursor is still getting invisible even at the lower resolution. So this was not the solution for the problem.
Hopefully it will get better when you update the mouse cursors in game.

Maybe it is only one kind of cursor, which is not appearing: there are some interactable objects where the Cursor appears (e.g. the button besides the tech, where you can click to open a research field to show all techs of this field).

I give you some more infos about my computer system, if it may help finding the issue with the mouse cursor:
- Windows 7 Professional (Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601)
- No special mouse cursors (standard Windows 7 Cursor: Windows Aero (System theme)) or GUI themes
- Video card: AMD Radeon HD7800 Series (the simple graphic Option you introduced for these cards in the last patch does not Impact the mouse cursor visibility)
- CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3801 MHz, 4 physical cores, 8 logical cores
- RAM: 16 Gb

Thanks for all your help!
