I'm trying to play SPGW, but I've hit a huge problem. In the very first mission, you're told to follow a ship called the Icarus. When you're given the "follow" objective, the game tells you to click on the Icarus to lock it as a target. If I do that, the game crashes. Every single time.

If I ignore that objective and just follow the ship on my own, it's fine. When it stops moving, you're told to scan the Icarus. Doing so requires you to click on it first. That actually works - there's no game crash now and I can target it. But the moment I select the "scan" option from the popup menu, the game dies immediately.

The log.txt file in the game's installation directory doesn't show any obvious errors. Doing other things in game seems to work absolutely fine - flying around, shooting asteroids, ignoring the tutorial person's instructions to stay close and getting told "You're leaving formation!". No graphical glitches or sound errors. It's these two very specific things that bring the game to its knees.

My system: Ryzen 5600X, 64 GB of RAM, Radeon 5600 XT. I'm running Linux (OpenSuSE Tumbleweed) and running the game under Wine (version 8.0 rc5). As for the game itself, I've got the base SPGW along with Titans, Deadly Dozen, Numibia, Endpoint and Cycle of Warfare.

Does anyone else have this problem, or is it just me? Is it the fact that I'm trying to run it under Linux?

EDIT: Probably Linux. I tried it on a Windows system and there weren't any problems, Yes, I know, this game isn't officially supported under Linux. Anyone else tried it, had the same problem and found a fix?
