My brother and I sometimes play single-player games where we trade off "driving", and I use two monitors to duplicate the image so we both can easily see the action. For some reason, though, this game only displays on one monitor unless I alt-tab out and back in (which leaves the game partially windowed).

I experienced a crash not long after doing that, and it's an annoying workaround anyhow (the Start bar pops up, etc.). :) Is there some other way to do this?

Hi Roccandil,

you can try two things:

1. Switch SPG2 to Windows borderless mode or
2. Edit config file and set your resolution manually

Also a nice trick is to press indows Button + Arrow up to align the window in borderless windown mode.

Config file can be found in your game folder - StarpointGemini2Configuration.cfg

Please let me know if it works. It should, we didn't had many problems with it so far.
If the game will still crash after trying out these methods, please go to your game folder after crash (but before restarting the game), take your save game and log.txt and mail them to oliver@starpointgemini.com so we can see what's happening and why. You can just copy paste this description you posted here in mail body.

Thank you and sorry for the inconvinience. :-/
Editing the config file did the trick for displaying the game on the second monitor without needing to window the game. Thanks! :)

I don't know about the crash yet; we'll see if that repeats. Thanks again.

EDIT: As it turns out, the only thing I needed to do was get the resolution to native (1920x1200). Enabling the borderless setting wasn't needed.

Also turn off AA, Shadows and VSYNC. I generally keep those off in almost all games most of the time.

AA can be turned down to 2X if you can't live without it, you won't see any jaggie and the game should be smooth.
Thanks for letting me know, Rocca. Glad to hear it works now.

As for AA, I agree with Shadowcaster, I have all maxed out, but there is a barely visible difference between 2x AA or full AA since we're in space, it's not that we're running around the buildings on the street so that you can see jaggies.

And it will improve performance drastically on older rigs. ;)
