What happened to patch 1.0008? Are we on a schedule to get every second patch? Every third patch? A Bi-annual patch? An annual patch? It might make support issues easier on the developers if GOG users were running the latest patched version available.
Due to GoG updating, it will be packed 2 or 3 patches at a time, as far as I know.
Unfortunately, cause you have to wait, but luckily cause every patch has some minor issues and Steam users are guniea pigs for them. When you get a pacth, it's usually pretty much tested and very stable. :) Look at the bright side. :)
Thanks, If this is the case, I should have bought it on Steam. GOG may be good for old games that already have all the patches they will ever get, but for a new game distributor this just isn't good enough. Even the pirated versions get updated more often then that. What a two edged sword, does someone go with Steam DRM and timely updates, or no DRM and poor update response from GOG?
Well for now, yes, the Steam updater is easier to work with so updates are coming at a really nice pace. Then again, GoG Galaxy is in Beta and it will work similar to Steam if I'm not mistaken so you should be able to get updates on time when it gets released.

So just a little more patience and I think GoG will do it's part too. :)

Whenever SPG2 gets updated on Steam, I post patch notes here so people can get a heads up what's coming. And GoG moderators usually post the same thing after they update here. :)

Anyway, I'm here as a SPG2 community member who's been playing this since first day of Early Access on Steam (more than a year ago), so don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the game or need any help.

If I don't know the answer, someone on Steam probably does so I can copy paste it, and if it's a technical problem I can contact devs and find out.

Fly safe, Captain! :)
Thank you.

I don't blame you. I am glad you told me the truth. This was a learning experience. I apologize for being sarcastic about GOG distributing every second patch or every third patch. I didn't really think it would be that bad. Then I find out that it literally IS that bad. I thought that maybe GOG would be a few days behind Steam. Now that the developer patch cycle is taking a couple weeks, it looks like GOG is due to be months behind Steam.

It is not fair to the developers either. They are probably going to be fielding bug reports from GOG users on items they have already patched cycles ago. I really enjoyed their self post to their forums that said in effect: "If you are going to pirate the game and then ask for technical support about problems, then at least have the decency to pirate the latest patched version". A stunningly practical sentiment. I wish they could communicate that sentiment to GOG.
