I collected all 50 artefacts (well, I could not find the last one, so I had to reset some artefact locations to zero to get it, so it could explain why it didn't work), and didn't get anything. In the Steam version, it unlocks an achievement and provides an in game bonus. Does it do the same on our version (as there is no achievements there)?
Unfortunately no. It's a Steam exclusive since achievement can be easily linked to in-game bonuses on Steam. GoG does not have a similar feature.
with artifact unlockable (alien) ships/weapons would be cool...maybe the lgm-ufo XD
but can't you just trigger the unlock/perk when the condition is met (instead of the achievement)?
It sounds like I did it all for nothing :(

Unfortunately it's not that simple. That feature is a Steam exclusive and it was made for Steam cause Steam already had architecture to implement it easily. Doing it from scratch for GoG is not as easy as it sounds. We would have to figure out a way to program a "counter" that would constantly check all "achievements" in progress and then when conditions are met, unlock features in the game. It would be too time consuming at the moment. We are developing new content and that is our priority. That's an honest answer. :-/

That was the idea for the easter egg. Maybe we'll do it in the expansion. :)

I assume we can expect the free DLC in the expansions then. :P

We will try to give you next DLC for free. It's not 100% confirmed but that's our idea. We also want to port complete SPG1 to SPG2 engine as a free DLC, but we are working on new stuff currently so we don't have time for that. But it's planned.

Expansion will cost something, but it will also be pumped up with new content, ships, campaign missions, even new game mechanics like conquering parts of the universe and having your own station so I think you won't have a problem with that. :)

It all sounds fantastic. Still need the latest patch first, though. GOG seems to be either dragging their heels or uninterested outright in doing anything to patch the game. I've had a support ticket in for two weeks now, and not a peep. Might as well not even bother with DLC if basic maintenance can't be done here.

If customers can't get news or support, and DEVELOPERS can't get any information... they're doing something wrong. Way, way wrong.
@ZombieIX: We have about 100+ k players on Steam and not so much on GoG, although I don't have any exact numbers for GoG atm. We are happy that players recognized our efforts to communicate with them and after more then a year in Early Access we were proud that people really felt involved in the game and that many of their ideas made it to release version. :)

@Norarc: I got some information that it should be released in a few days. I don't have 100% confirmation, but I hope that info is correct.
Devs thank you for communicating so well with the community on this game.

Well the least we can do is talk to people who play our game. :)

And the game itself wouldn't be half as good without all community suggestions that made it to the final version during Early Access on Steam. So yes, we respect you.
GoG can be REALLY slow with getting updates out (see what happened with getting massive assault 2 fixed) or responding, it may take a while but usually I find they do eventually respond or get the update out. they need to work on streamlining the process and hiring more support staff in the future methinks.
