Everytime I select a display mode and goes through the title screen and interstel police warning it says "load game, game in progress but not saved press any ket to exit" then closes after i press a key how do i start a game?

Edit: Nevermnd sloved it. Reinstalling worked

If you run into this problem again, just find the "Reset and start the game" in the start menu. This is the only way I know of to play the game after playing once without saving.

its happening again but what start menu? it just comes up with that error

Edit: Nevermind again thought you ment on the game not the computer i barly use the startmenu so yeah. Anyway thank

This is still a problem. It would be nice if it could fixed without the need for the reset.

Reinstalling did nothing. Reset and start the game just makes that stupid "Put the disk in and hit any key" error come back. *sighs* If I needed to update my graphics card this would be every reason why I hate PC gaming in a nutshell.

Edit: Ok, needed to run the reset thin as an admin. So needlessly complicated. But at least I an play the game now.

Just bought this package, remembering how much fun it was when it came out. Unfortunately, I am having the same issue as everyone else. How can GOG sell a game that fails for so many people? Not much of a bargain if it doesn't work.

This happens when you quit the game without "quitting and saving", you can't quit while in the middle of a game by alt+f4 or anything else. You must save and quit each time. There are some useful dos apps that you can use in dosbox to make backups.
