I have the following problem:

I tried out the multiplayer of Stardew Valley on steam with a copy I had access to via friends&family sharing. After finding out just how much fun it was, I decided to get the game here, on GOG.

But when I try to connect with my GOG version to the same multiplayer game, it says the server has no free slots. My best guess is that it does not recognize me as the original farmhand owner after switching versions and tries to assign me a new character, for which there is no room.

Is there any workarround for that? I'd hate to lose my level 8 fishing and entire season of progress just because I wanted to actually buy the game on my favourite platform.

Thank you for your time!

Late answer, but... just to understand it correctly: you have the savegame, you were host, and you copied the savegame correctly?
