It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I downloaded and installed the latest version 2.8.0.10 from GOG. Installed, but it crashes during startup.

The error log shows:

I installed the xnafx40_redist.msi XNA library as suggested from other posts. Still crashes with the same error.

I have no mods.

Help please.

FWIW I solved the issue. I had previously had an older version of Stardew Valley installed, and kept the savegames from it when I uninstalled. Now that I installed the newer version, the game was getting confused about the file startup_preferences from the older version that was present in the %appdata%\Stardew Valley folder together with the older savegames. I deleted the startup_preferences file and let the game recreate it, That got rid of the error.
