When I was getting the update to the latest SDV (I always get the full installer via GOG Downloader), the profile entry says the default, non-Downloader link "includes the GOG Galaxy client for the full experience." I go here instead of Steam to avoid this crap (I don't need the other features Galaxy has anyway).

Is this true? Does the installer from Downloader have Galaxy?

Yes the default installers contain Galaxy, but there is a version without Galaxy. Click on "More" and then on "Classic Installers".

The installers downloaded by Galaxy or the GOG Downloader do not contain Galaxy.

Sorry for the necro, but is it still possible to get a Galaxy-less installer? I have no option to choose a classic installer, and the only one available does install some unspecified Galaxy files.

though i think stardew is just one part. at least it was when i helped
my ma install it when she bought the game a while back)

Yes, that's exactly the installer I was talking about - the 488 MB one from the offline backup installer menu, not from the big blue "get GOG Galaxy" button. Am I to assume that the Galaxy-something files it installs in the game folder have nothing to do with GOG Galaxy?

its probably just files that allow multiplayer to work i would be guessing
maybe to hook into galaxy to find friends' games or something like that
or maybe to allow galaxy to find the game if you launch it after offline installing
