Well, to make this as brief as possible, there should be a thread for every little event one can care to tell.

For starters, I just had the lulz of the day: The fortune teller on the TV told me today (1st Spring 2nd Year) that the spirits were angry and would do their best to make my day as unlucky as possible. And guess what, I was fishing to make a few quality fertilizers for my farm when a treasure popped up - and inside where a Diamond AND an Iridium Band.

That's some bad luck for sure. ^^

You fished up an Iridium band? Wow that's very lucky! :D
Very early on I fished up a nice sword actually.
I think this is a little hard not to spoiler the game for others?! There are lots of things, I'd like to tell someone, because it were funny, interesting situations. The reason, why these were good moments is, because I did not read about it... :/

But concerning a general discussion: after 48 hours into the game, there is nothing, I hate about this game. Nevertheless there is one thing, that bothers me: IMO the punishment for when you die in the mines (or that other place ;) ) is way to hard. I just died and not only did I lose 16 pieces from the inventory, including the 24 leftover poppy seeds. I also lost my favorable sword "obsidian edge", I found hours ago. That really pissed me of, so I just exited to desktop and loaded the last savegame 10 minutes before.

Okay and one little bummer: you know that feeling, when you harvest your crops and you kill the plant by accident with your pickaxe?! :D

But after all really good game :)

Yeah I also load savegames IF i die, so I make sure I don't die. it's severely punishing.
The point is: you lose much more than the last ten minutes (appr. since the last "sleepsave") were worth playing.

Awesome game moments: if you get special eggs and can put them into the incubator :)
But also regular eggs... I was wondering to pay another expensive 4000 bucks for a duck ... until I realized, I can just hatch that duck egg I got :)
Okay, a single cow cannot get pregnant... makes sense. But a single duck can produce eggs, that can be hatched again?! :D ;) ...

Oh yeah, I know this one. "Watering" your only ancient seed while holding the axe is something you don't forget ^^

And I'm starting to regret giving a special egg to the museum, rather than incubating it. It appears to be quite uncommon, and I'm pretty curious about what would have happened if I tried to get it to hatch...
Maybe I'll find another one next winter

Oh ya... I found that egg yesterday and just thought "Gunther can tell - my ass" :D but I'm afraid, I read about this in the web and so the surprise won't be that great. But just finding it gave me goose bumps :)
Ah... that egg! I didn't have a barn back then, so to the museum it went - maybe I'll get another one in the future.
What is the point of building a well? You're already surrounded by water. :P
AND TWO STORAGE QUESTIONS

1. Does your house come with any storage apart from the chest you build? I keep reading, "Craft a chest for additional storage." Additional to what? :P It seems to me you'd be crafting a chest for your only storage. It also mentions upgrading your house gives you more storage. More from what, nothing? :P

2. The wood pile that makes up the left side of the house, when you hover over it you get a hand as if to interact but nothing happens. Am I missing something?
Building a well gives you another option to fill up the watering can - aside from the two ponds that already are on the farm. It can save some seconds when your fields are far away from those ponds. Aside from that, it's all about scenery, I guess.

You can craft as many chest as you want, given you have a free spot to place them. And that spot doesn't have to be in the house. Upgrading the house gives you a kitchen, which comes with a fridge that functions as a chest (anything can be placed inside) with the special addition that it's inventory can be used for cooking (place the ingredients in the fridge).

no Idea on the wood pile actually...

Thanks. :D

I googled the wood pile and evidently it has to do with a quest much later on.

Appreciate the help.
Are crab pots reusable?
According to the TV-Show: yes. I've never used them myself, though.

Just tested them and yes, they are.

I got them for free so I figured, why not. :P
