Is anyone else having an issue where your run speed will randomly slow down or speed up? It is really annoying to be running and then have it slow to a crawl just out of the blue. :\

Edit: actually, it seems like a whole game issue since everything else runs faster as well.

The game's been acting that way since launch. I have no idea what triggers it, but I just enjoy the extra zip in my character's step whenever it happens ( ᐛ )و

Generally speaking I haven't had this issue myself ... if I never take any screenshots.
For some reason if I hit print-screen or the key I've hotkeyed to FRAPS, sometimes it seems to spike the fps down to 45- or 50, until I hit ESC/menu a few times, or take another screenshot. It's strange.

But if I don't do those things, it stays at my locked 60fps forever, never moving.

This is all in Fullscreen mode, not the borderless windowed. Win7.

Yes, I've been having the same issue and it's driving me nuts. The game arbitrarily slows down, then goes back to regular speed, then slows down again. Any advice on how to fix this would be great...
Wondering if this has to do with GOGs version.
I have both GOG and steam version and I only notice it happening on GOG version for some reason.
Happens to me too. Hitting alt+enter to switch between window and full screen brings the game back up to full speed but only for a few seconds before it slows down again.
Sleeping for the night also brings the game speed back up but again, only for a short time.
I tried paying attention as to when the slowdowns occur, but it seems completely random for me. Sometimes saving slows it down, other times it speeds it up, entering an area may slow it down or not. Sometimes it happens during fishing, sometimes when entering the mines, sometimes several in-game days will be completely slowdown free only to have it followed by non-stop slowdown, etc. Pure anarchy.

I tried de-installing & re-installing, switching between fullscreen/windowed mode or keyboard/controller. Nothing triggers it reliably or gets rid of it either...

I mean, it's thankfully not a total game breaking bug or anything, it's just kind of annoying. =3=

edit: Alright, I give up. I tried every suggested solution I found. Turn off VSync, run in compability mode, run as administrator, run game on a single cpu core...Nope. Nothing. Still in slow mo town.

Seems there's nothing one can do but hope for a patch to float along~

Thank God I'm not the only one. For while I though I might have just been imagining it; then the speed change one time while I was cutting wood and the change in tempo was obvious. For me, the slow down typically seem to start at the beginning of the day, but the speed up/return to normal speed happens randomly.
Another one here with that problem. Its really annoying bug since I was playing "sparrow" version, then I bought the game and now I am unable to play in a legal way -.-
Got an update here, the problem seems to be affecting only Nvidia cards. I played the game on my old AMD card PC and so far, zero slowdowns.

So as far as solutions go, I dunno, grab a cheap AMD card off ebay? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I haven't noticed it at all on my laptop with an nVidia 840m. Maybe it's only some nVIdia cards?
I found a solution. Its not about the graphic card. Its about a problem of xna framework. I submitted the solution to the gog support and they will put it soon on the support page. Meanwhile, I can give you a solution if you pm or add me as friend since I cant post links here.

Is this the link you wanted to share?

I did a repair install of the XNA framework but the random speed fluctuations still persist on my machine. My video card is an AMD.

Tried an XNA repair install as well, didn't do anything. Do you have to fiddle with some files specifically?

And the Nvidia thing is a dead end then? It was just everyone I saw who reported the issue with their specs listed had an Nvidia card (GTX950 in my case), plus the dev has supposedly stated using an AMD card themselves.

I just cannot fathom why the game would run on my 6 year old not at all gaming suited PC without problems, but a brand new system can't handle a tiny little pixel indie game?
