Hey there everyone,

I'm quite new to this, so I'm looking for help. Here is my problem:

A friend of mine an I wanted to play Stardew Valley together. She is using Steam, I'm using GoG on a Linuxsystem (I'm no fan of Steam and I prefer Linux for everything Internet related)
I already checked out how to set up a multiplayer game, but I'm a bit confused.
The Co-Op Modus only offers me to select "Join LAN Game", I then tried out to host a Farm and in the options, at the multiplayersection, there I was offered the following options:

-Server Mode: Online/Offline
-Accept IP connections
-Enable new character creation

(But nothing like "Friends only", "Invite Friend" or "Show Invite Code")

Is it possible with those options to use the multiplayer modus with my friend? Or will I have to switch to the Windows version and use GoG-Galaxy? I've also read about the option to set up a VPN, put is that true?
I'm not very tech-savvy, but I'm willing to learn, so any kind of advices and feedback is very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot :)

Update:
So far it didn't work. Any suggestions?

From what my friend told me, they didn't have the option to do so either, so I had to host using the ip function. Just use port forwarding to open the port 24642 and use both udp and tcp. Then just give them your ip by searching "whats my ip" in your browser and have them connect that way. Since both gog and steam versions should have the ip function, you will be able to play without using gog galaxy.
