Trying to install 1.4 and the installer works perfectly and returns a successfully installed message at the end... and there's no stardew installed anywhere. The game files are on my system but there is no way to run the game. This is on Ubuntu 19.04

If the game files are there, why not see if they'll launch via a terminal?
Hello,

There is an error 542 in launching mono (at least in Debian), but it is easy to solve.

Look for the file start.sh in the installation folder (something/GOG Games/Stardew Valley/), and add the following line at the beginning :

export TERM=xterm

Mono demands the environment variable to be xterm, but it is the value xterm-256color that is stored in Debian. Simply changing this value will let the game launch properly.

HTH.
