Hi! I've purchased the game a little while ago on GoG here. I have a problem: I'm not able to play multiplayer games with my friend to whom I only have an ipv6 connection.

Could StarDew Valley team please clarify if that's the expected behavior? Or if they could fix it, please-please-please? Otherwise the potential of the game is reduced significantly for me...

Thanks,
Vasili

Are trying to play multiplayer with gog galaxy? I assume not or else it should work without problems

If you try with LAN you host a new farm then open ingame options and there should be an option to show invite code... You send that code to your friend and he should be able to join you.

@alexandros050 thanks for the reply!
The problem is that I'm on Linux, Gog Galaxy doesn't exist here.

The posts above describe how to play with GogGalaxy, or via (assumingly?) ipv4. What would be the answer for ipv6? I mean, to be clear, I know I have a working ipv6 connection between the computers. When ipv4 is used, Stardew Valley works, but when ipv6 is attempted to being used, it doesn't.

My request (please-please-please!) is to just "fix" Stardew Valley by making it ipv6-aware, so that ipv6 can be used.

Alternatively, if somebody reports ipv6 to be working, then this would also be an answer, however with the many tests I've done it seems unlikely.

P.S. I'm a many-years backend developer. The problem can still sit between the monitor and the chair, but from what I gather, S.V. is just lacking ipv6, and I'd so much love for this to be fixed. I'm playing with a small kid remotely sometimes, and SV is one of the few games that does not consist of shooting objects and is actually nice/cooperative.
