Recently I have been experiencing a lot of stuttering in the game where the picture almost freezes and then jumps around. It freezes mostly when in "pause" situations, like looking in a chest, putting things in the delivery bin, summary at end of night, processing geodes, etc.

I have a new PC - Dell XPS 8900, Intel i7 processor, GEForce GTX 970 graphic card, Windows 10. Stardew is the only game I have loaded and have been playing for the past month.

Can someone help me determine what the issue might be? I am not very tech savy.

force vsync on in the nvidia control panel, It was the same thing that was on my end and doing that fixed it.

but I hope that does the job... turn multi thread on and enable triple buffer and vsync on and frame render to 1

Thank you DreamedArtist. I changed my settings as suggested. I also realized that there was some type of update that I needed to download. Once I did all that and restarted my computer everything seems to be working again. I am so happy. The game was virtually unplayable with all that skipping and freezing. Thanks again.

No problem! :) glad I can help and hope it helps others who had the issue as well.

Oh and regularly check the nvidia drivers page and ALWAYS update to the latest driver to fix issues with some games and when you upgrade you need to re fix the settings in the control panel again which sucks haha but keep that in mind
