Not sure if this has been reported, but I've found that at certain times, casting your rod on land (it seems to happen mostly with the Fibreglass Rod, but I haven't done too much extensive testing) causes a serious freezing bug.

Your character will be stuck standing still with the rod out and nothing you do can cancel it. Even waiting until the clock rolls over doesn't help, the game just locks you into the fishing situation for eternity.

It's not easily replicated, but it does happen and it ruins any progress made, especially if it occurs in the afternoon. The obvious workaround is to not have your rod selected in order to not accidentally cast on land, but often when you're low on stamina, you just run home with the last tool selected and clicking the use key can result in the issue (at least for me).

Does exiting the game and reloading the day solve the problem? Sure, you'd lose the day progress (so 10-15min of gameplay, which can be pretty frustrating), but still better than if it forces you to start fros scratch.
Patch 1.04 appears to have fixed this issue. Hasn't happened since then.

No this still occurs. Happened to me just now.
Best bet on any bug report would be to submit it to the developers:

https://community.playstarbound.com/forums/stardew-support/

May get a better response than doing so on a third party website that isn't monitored by the developer.
