Galaxy hasn't run on my computer in a while due to some problem with the communication service I've not been able to fix, so I was attempting to update my game with the standalone installer. It does not, however, appear to do anything. The installer runs and gives every appearance of working (though near the end of the process it pops up a folder selection box without telling me what I'm supposed to be selecting a folder for) in its own interface, but it doesn't actually seem to update or install anything. I've tried running it with the game application in Applications, on the desktop, and in the trash, but the installer behaved the same way every time; I've also tried selecting the Applications folder and the desktop in that folder selection box, as well as making a new folder on the desktop through it (the new folder was created but was empty). This is the first time I've had such a problem with a GOG installer, and I don't know what's going on. Any ideas?

See here. Posts #21, #24, & #25.

Post #24 says there should be a several minute timeout that you can wait out. Post #25 is the GOG "official" manual extract directions from the other thread.

Could you tell us which of the two above solutions worked for you? Was it the manual extract install or the waiting through the timeout?
