So it's like this.

I need a good balance of three things to enjoy an rpg.

Atmosphere, Combat, and Dialogue

I need my rpgs to be at least be decent in all three areas, or I'll lose interest in a few days and likely never touch it again.

Been multi-tasking watching Darksaber2k on twitch play it. I was afraid that it'd be really light on dialogue since it apparantly takes a lot of inspiration from Wizardry(I was more into Might and Magic), but there seems to be a fair amount of decent dialogue in between dungeons, and the dungeons don't seem to go on forever like I feared.

Do you think that thre'd be enough dialogue for me?
As far as I’m concerned, atmosphere and combat are there. There isn’t really that much dialogue, though. Story missions have them, there are also some dialogues with corporations. It’s a dungeon crawler (and a really good one, IMO), not second coming of Torment.
Yeah, don't expect any story beyond the usual getting a mission and going into a dungeon to accomplish it, plus some political stuff in the background (like you can decide which faction to side with) and maybe some minor twists like "Wait, they send me here to retrieve something, nobody told me about the killer robots."

You do know that I said fair, not way too much, right?

This, plus the fact that I hear that this game is Etrian oddysee hard is the kiss of death for me for this game.

You all are terrible gamestop employees! :P

you're also honest human beings, so thanks.
Wait. The game is hard? When does it become hard. My guys are lev 13, and things are fine, so far.

I had one problem finding a magma pump. But when I finally found it, I was forced to admit that it was my fault it took so long - or in other words, it was a good puzzle. (Also, I see that there's a spoiler online just in case you don't like hunting puzzles.)

-edit- I just poked my head back into the game and I see that my guys are lev 17 - not 13 as I said.

The main quest has some good dialogues and I think it's fun.
However, there's not much talking in the game. You can receive funny emails, but that doesn't get very far. Still, I like the story and variety of characters, even though it's nto an important part of the game..
The difficulty of the game depends a lot on the level difference. If you only do the story missions, you are soon 10+ levels underleveled. Then it gets really hard.

If you count doing random missions as "grinding" then the game is pretty grind-heavy. Not to mention that I always have trouble with the money.
