I have a 1440p monitor at 144hz, but I keep it at 60hz global in NVidia settings since a lot of games just work better for me that way on Windows 7.
This game does come with the option to change resolutions to quite a few types. However, I do have one issue I am hoping to resolve.
By default, the 2560 x 1440p at 143hz is selected. But selecting 2560 x 1440 at 59hz will revert back to the first resolution when I close the options window.
I can for instance, change to 1920 x 1080 and it will change to that at 143hz. If I select 1920 x 1080 at 59hz, same thing as above happens.
So how do I may it stick after changing to 2560 x 1440 at 59hz with it reverting back to 143hz?
My monitor is an Asus 2560 x 1440 at 144hz native. Though I have it set to 60hz currently on my Window 7 SSD. I think it's at 144hz on my Windows 10 SSD, but I don't use that for games right now.
The main reason I did this was several games that defaulted to 144 or uncapped refresh rate, had my GPU fans spinning super fast at certain loads (I don't think it was even high loads). As soon as I set it to 59hz or 60hz, the GPU fans went back to normal.
If anyone has any idea on how to set it permanently to 59hz or 60hz for this game, I'd appreciate it. With my headset on and sounds turned up a bit, I sometimes can't tell if the GPU is running wild. So I don't want to take a chance is all.
FYI, the game when I started it up and saved as soon as I started a new game, did not make my GPU fans go wild. This was the default 2560 x 1440 at 14hz and for 5 to 10 minutes, it behaved normally. I just worry that as soon as I play a bit and the saves get bigger, it'll start the problem again.
I still have no clue why my GPU does this, but I already spent too much time in the past trying to resolve it. Setting it to 59hz or 60hz was simple and was solution for almost every game so far.
Thanks for any help!
