How can it be DRM-free but still require an internet connection?
As I stated in the FAQ thread, it does not require an internet connection. To be certain, I just redisabled my internet connection, launched the game, created a character and started playing on the ship with it, all with no connection. I believe that requirement (broadband connection) is meant for when playing online in that a dialup connection won't be sufficient, but I'm unsure.

Also, the minimum resolution requirement is incorrect as well, I can shrink the window down to a tiny box if I like. GOG should probably fix that before losing sales.

Luckmann: How can it be DRM-free but still require an internet connection?
The requirements given by Chuckfish were probably lazily pasted from elsewhere.
Perhaps they mean broadband required because it's beta and you'll want to download frequent updates. Or maybe someone just forgot the parenthetical (for multiplayer)

i assume you mean screen resolution with minimum resolution requirement ?
i cant find a min res in the req:

Minimum system requirements - Windows: OS: Windows XP or later, Processor: Core 2 Duo, Memory: 2 GB RAM, Graphics: 256 MB graphics memory and directx 9.0c compatible gpu, DirectX: Version 9.0c, Network: Broadband Internet connection, Storage: 3 GB available space

Recommended system requirements - Windows: OS: Windows XP or later, Processor: Core i3, Memory: 4 GB RAM, Graphics: Discrete GPU capable of directx 9.0c, DirectX: Version 9.0c, Network: Broadband Internet connection, Storage: 4 GB available space
there is a wip (work in progress) game that reads: 1280, but if that res. wont be 1024x768 as the lowest res., then they might miss out on some extra sales :D, i think there will always be some suers in some countires that will have a little lower resolution: so 1024x768 would be wise to include that .

dev should always include 1024x768 in game, unless they go for the big expensive FPP games, you cant proper FPP in 1024x768, but all these games in the in development section look more like some form of indie or casual games, and 99% of the casualgames designers are very wise to always include 1024x768 (old crt monitors) as a minimum resolution.
I have 500 casuals and they all support 1024x768 as a minimum :D

I just resized my game window to about 200x200. It "worked", but I wouldn't play that way. If you turned the zoom down to 1x from the default of 3x it MIGHT even be actually playable at 480x320. Probably not a lot of fun, but technically doable. Effectively all resolutions are supported
Internet connection is optionnal and is used in two places:
- The launcher uses it to show recent starbound tweets and blog posts.
- The game can be player solo or multi.

thanks for the reply

i just saw Thea: The Awakening
so i went to youtube to see some vids.
as far as i can see that world map is seldom used, its only as a navigation to bring up the main game screens inventory and card fighting system.

I might be interested in it if there wont be too much motions ((motionsicknes) turning and zooming in and out of the screen, and flashes(photosensitivty)
So i guess i be off to the forum part for that game :D

I haven't tried it since I'm not photosensitive, but this mod is meant to clean up potentially dangerous UI elements.

Oh, true, I just assumed it to be written there since you were talking about it in the FAQ thread: "system requirements are fair :D very nice but : Graphics: 1280x720 minimum resolution is not ...."

Why were you saying that then?
