I seem to have a problem assigning roles to the pilots. All of the pilots say "alone," and have the icon of "leader." Although I gave Corsair a Cleric remote repair unit, I cannot assign him to "repair," (the only way to use the cleric...) I do not know why this has happened and I have not seen anyone else mention this problem.
Any clues as to a fix?

Make sure you have grouped the pilots first. Just click and drag the pilots on top of one another, so that they share the same border box. Unless they are grouped, specific roles can't be assigned.

It may seem obvious, but sometimes the obvious escapes us.
