A heads up for Vista users.
About halfway through the game, the program starts "hiding" it's save games. When you start the game and hit load game, only old saves appear available. To get back to where you were, you need to restart the program and hit continue to automatically return to your last quit spot. Then your "hidden" saves will become visible.
I have no idea why this is or where the files are... The normal location in the gog/starwolves directory only shows the fist dozen saves and doesn't show anything past that. From searching online for solutions, this appears to be a known problem in running the game on Vista (I found no mention of issues on 7).
-- Hard to blame the developer too much for what appears to be a Vista-only issue. They wouldn't be the first group to have issues with that already obsolete system. Too bad I'm too lazy to change OS on the desktop. --
