Am having a problem with on XWA where every time I launch the game, it creates a fresh new pilot file, not allowing me to load any previously created pilots...

Launch the game as admin or pick a alternative install location which allows you to create files without admin rights. Had the very same problem.

Tried to launch game as admin, that is not working, and not sure where that alternative install location would be, thought I did not need admin rights to create files in the GOG install folder.

Don install it on C:\Program Files(x86). That is usually admin only area.

its not, its installed under d:\GOG Games
