Hello All,

I own Tie Figher 1995 Collectors edition on CD and I've played it in the last 5 or so years on a computer with a disc driver and was able to get smooth decent gamplay via dosbox. No frame drops or stutter.

My current computer does not have a disc drive so I bought it on GoG. However the gameplay is abymsal. Any time there is an explosion on screen or any more than a ship or two (especially large ships) the frames drop and it stutters/freezes temporarily. I've tried adjusting the settings in the dosbox configuration file but nothing seems to help. I went to the Nvidia Control panel and made sure it was rendering Opengl from my graphics card.

Any idea where I could start? I'm playing on a Windows 10 machine with a 1440p monitor with G-sync built in. I've tried to make sure all that fancy stuff is disabled when I play this game (in case it might be interfering). Video card is a 980Ti if that matters.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to enjoy this game the way I used to when replaying it. Anything I can help provide to diagnose this problem?

For the DOS version, something around 55.000-60.000 cycles should work, giving you decent framerate in SVGA mode.... don't get too much over that values, otherwise it may trigger bugs with the capital ships turret AI

You may also try a different renderer... my old dosbox.conf file for the game is set to 'ddraw'
