This is a general topic on targeting components and its effect. Some are obvious, launching a torpedo or three at a WHEAD LNCHR will stop the target from firing missiles, and Ive read in another thread that destroying the shield generator on a Star Destroyer type will drop the shields but what other effects are there in the game?

Things like Communications Array, Hangar Bay, Engines, Bridge and others?
Engines will make the ship slower by each engine you take off, until it fully stops. Is very useful against certain targets, like Corellian Corvettes, or on certain missions as a "crowd control" for big ships.

I've always thought attacking Bridge makes some extra damage, but I've never done any serious test about it so it's probably just a placebo effect on my mind :P

Destroying (or attacking, as some can't be destroyed before the own ship) the other components doesn't have any effect, gameplay wise.
In XWA there's a "weapon control" component. Taking it out would not prevent the ship from firing?
