Agetian: For starters, there's X-Wing Alliance Upgrade (XWA Upgrade) that makes the game look very beautiful even by modern standards, in my opinion, at least it pushes the game engine to its limits as much as possible:
http://xwaupgrade.com There's aso Darksaber's Ultimate Craft Pack (DSUCP) for X-Wing Alliance which is largely similar to the XWAUP pack in what it's trying to achieve but has some notable differences, such as the ability to use an Imperial concourse:
