I'm playing the Collector's CD Tie Fighter with a new Thrustmaster HOTAS X. I've got my keys mapped with JoyToKey, which seems to be working fine. Things broadly work- no constant drift, calibration works okay.
But I'm having trouble with the joystick responsivity. It seems like there's about 200ms of lag between my moving the joystick and my craft moving, and it's really hurting my ability to play the game well- my dogfighting accuracy is pitiful.
If I just use the Windows 8 control panel to test my joystick, I also notice the stickiness/lag in the test panel. Setting timed=true in the dosbox .conf didn't help, nor did changing joystick type to fcs.
Does anybody else have performance issues with the HOTAS X? Do I have a defective unit?
