Simple question: short of using other tricks like third-party input utilities, is there a way to invert mouse control in the game?

Download a SVN Daum build of Dosbox and install it then simply replace the Dosbox folder in GOG Games\Star Wars - TIE Fighter (1994)\ with the files from Program Files\DOSBox SVN-Daum\ or download the 7zip file and extract it into the DOSBOX folder.

Very often the control panel of your mouse offers such an option. Usually you can also make these custom mouse settings specific for a certain application by naming the programs executable file.
