I was playing with no problems, the next time I turned my computer on when I go to start TIE fighter via the Start Menu, it gives me a black screen with the popup Direct Input Keyboard Acquire FAILED. Playing TIE fighter was the last and first thing I'd done other than powering off and on so I'm not sure why it stopped working. Any ideas on where I could start troubleshooting?

What happens after you aknowledge the Error Message? I have this error all the time, but I can play it nevertheless

I GOT IT SOLVED: DEACTIVATED A LOT OF PROICESSES. APPLE STUFF; PUNKBUSTER; ADOBE STUFF WHATEVER:: IT WORKED::sry caps

Once I clicked "OK" I just got a blank screen and would have to Ctrl-Alt-Del my way to task manager to close TIE.


The error stopped showing up, I don't know if it was luck or one of the things I tried eliminated the problem, but for anyone else getting this error, potential fixes could include:

Unplugging any and all USB devices and plugging only the necessary ones back in

Restarting

Glaring angrily at the computer so that it knows you mean business.
