IIR, patch 1.2 just drops the Naboo Starfighter directly in to the hanger from the get-go after it's installed.

The Naboo Starfighter can only be accessed after completing a level with the default craft for that level.

Getting the Naboo fighter used to be a cheat on the N64 I believe, but it is indeed in the hangar as standard in this version, nice to see it.

Factor 5 actually included it from the start, but this was before the release of Episode 1, and they didn't have clearance from Lucasfilm. So, they had to hide it, and they did so really well. No modder or hacker figured out it was there until they dropped the patch when clearance was given. Since they couldn't patch the N64 release, they had to use a cheat, but it was a two-stage one, and it still remained hidden from everyone until revealed.

Factor 5 had some brilliant minds.
