I don't know why this is a thing, but I recalled getting the game to work before then just recently installed and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't. Hopefully this helps someone.

1. Don't install via Galaxy , download directly from the website

2. Install the game to your C:\GOG Games folder. If the folder isn't there create one

That is pretty much all I had to do for all my issues zzzz...

Thank you very much! I was having the exact problem and was wondering why it wasn't working. I tried all the other fixes from the other posts but im glad i found yours :) Now i got it working.
