If the game is being sold for $9.99 or a similar regional equivalent on other services, is the price increase because this version runs better on modern systems? If GOG does/has given an official answer for this, a link to it would also be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately publishers believe DRM free should come at a cost to the consumer.
I am unable to comprehend the necessity of this topic. Am I being shown a price different from the author of this thread?...

I think it might cost more here than on other sites?
The thread starter asked why was the game being sold for more than the $9.99 being charged on other services. When I view the price card for the game it says $9.99 as in the attachment I posted previously, hence my lack of understanding of the existence of this thread.

I think it will normally be 12.50 because the game is regionally priced on Steam but not here, so Disney wanted to ensure the flat price wasn't less than any Steam price.

That seems to be the most logical explaination, thanks.

It's $9.99 on GOG for the first week, afterwards the full price will be $12.50. Steam sells it for $9.99 at full price, I believe the app store for Mac does as well.

No, wasn't a discount on the game.

Pretty sure it stay $9.99 (or in my case, 9 EURO 99) forever excluding sales.

Nope, it was. Now it's $12.50 over here.

9,99 € is roughly equivalent to 12,50 $ ;)
GOG isn’t part of these shady places where they try to trick you into thinking that 1 € is equivalent to 1 $…
Well, it's still 9euro99 here... which incidently is the very same price Steam is asking...
I guess the higher price originates in the following mindset:
"Ah, so they want it without any Digital Rights Management and without regional pricing? No problem, we'll simply raise the price to 12.49$, so Europeans will have to pay 9.99€ (9.99€ equals roughly 12.49$), as they have to with other distributors like Steam."

And there you go, one world, one price, but it comes at a cost.
Is this fair? No. Do I care? Not really. I gladly paid more money for a DRM-free version of one of my favourite games. I just hope this practise won't be the new standard for regional-pricing-loving publishers coming to GOG in the future.

Oh, and the game was 20% off in the first week, hence the 9.99$ price, in case anyone still wondered.
