I know there's a script that lets one play Knights on Linux, but has anyone successfully run KotorTool? What's involved- just running its installer through Wine or something more complex?

You need Microsoft .NET to run Kotor Tool, so it would probably be too complicated for Linux to run.

Nah, Mono has been around for more than a decade, and there are games that ship native binaries using Mono for Linux -- for example, Terraria, which is written in C# using XNA.

I just tested kotor tool under wine and it started up at least, and I managed to extract some bif file with it. I have no idea what else to do with it, but I'd say there's a fair chance it'll work just fine.

Also you don't really need any scripts to play the game. Just do a standard install under wine, and mod it if you like.
