Hey all,
I've recently purchased Galactic Battlegrounds as I was a major fan of it back in the day. Ahhh the memories!
Anyway, I've installed the game and have loaded it up. I get to the main menu, start a quick game and it loads into the game fine.
Once in the game, I move the mouse around and within a couple of seconds, it just freezes. Now if I wait 10-20 seconds (maybe more) it'll unfreeze again for a couple of seconds. This seems to reoccur and it makes the game totally unplayable.
I've searched the forums and I cant see any other mentions of something similar like this. What I have noticed is, when the freeze occurs, If I look at the display on my Logitech G15 keyboard, I can see that the CPU drops off to 0%. When the game unfreezes again, the CPU goes back up to between 5-15%.
I've tried setting the game with compatibility mode with various configurations but that didn't seem to make a blind bit of difference. I have UAC turned off so I hope that isn't the cause.
I have also tried setting the CPU affinity to a Single Core and set the priority to Real-time. Again, neither of these have made any difference.
I'm interested to know if anyone else has had similar problems with this and whether there is a workable solution? I would love to get this fixed ideally but if there's no real solution, I feel like there no other option other than to see about a refund. (which does make me sad!)
