Language for download selection was defaulted to German, had to change to English and redownload.

Yeah, it's a known bug. Whenever you're trying to download a game from GOG, first change the language to something else and only then to your desired language to make sure you will download the right version (in case there are only 2 languages, usually English & German, in case you want English version, first set it ot English, then to German and finally to English again :D)
